Jensen Hunt Design provided structural design services for the refurbishment of this Victorian pub located at the end of Brick Lane, London.

The building has been renovated to provide a gastro pub at ground floor and basement with hotel accommodation to the upper floors. All floors were refurbished to suit its revised use and the layout amended to incorporate a new full height staircase.

Jensen Hunt’s work included the justification of the existing structure to support an additional storey of hotel accommodation and a new roof terrace providing views across the London skyline. 

The 4th floor was designed as a ‘crash deck’ to satisfy disproportionate collapse requirements in accordance with Building Regulations.
